My blog has the most up-to-date news and useful information about Canadian-certified translation services, language requirements, and making documents legal. It explains how professionals translate text from Portuguese into English efficiently while maintaining a high level of accuracy, and why simply using tools that translate words from a different language may not meet official standards.
Get answers to frequently asked questions about official requirements and certified translation standards. My translation service supports a wide range of translation needs across multilingual language pairs, including Portuguese documents. A dictionary or instant translation tool can help you translate a single phrase or quickly check wording, but certified translation requires professional review to provide accurate translations effortlessly without relying on overly literal results that can change the meaning.
Certified Translator A certified translator is a member in good standing of a recognized professional translation association, either in Canada or internationally. The certification should be validated with an official seal or stamp that includes the translator's membership number.
I typically require high-resolution scans or images for translation purposes. Please send them to me via email (igor@isaev.ca), WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, or text message. Feel free to bring them to my office in person.
All translations are certified with the qualified translator's signature and official stamp. Example of what it looks like
If necessary, I may have the translations notarized at an additional cost.
Only public notaries in Canada have the legal authority to certify copies as identical to the original. I can take your original documents to a notary and certify copies for you (at an extra expense). I include a copy of the source document in my translation bundle.
Yes, I would be delighted to assist on a turnkey basis. I will authenticate, apostille, and legalize your documents; please email igor@isaev.ca for more details.
Here is the most thorough guide on apostilling Canadian documents for use in other countries. It includes samples, photos, descriptions, and illustrations of apostilles. I tested everything on hundreds of Canadian customers.
The official website of the Canadian Ministry of Immigration states that:
A translation must be constant across time and valid indefinitely, unless the original document is modified or expires. The translation remains legitimate even if a certified translator's or notary's signature has expired. If the translator's certification was current at the time of signing, the translation is still valid.
A new translation is required only if the original document has expired or has altered and the applicant submits a new one.
